Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association Selects WMC Global
for Common Short Codes Monitoring

FAIRFAX, VA, February 1, 2010—WMC Global announced today its selection by the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) as the vendor to perform in-market monitoring of advertising for third-party content providers' SMS programs, for products such as ringtones, wallpapers, games, videos and text alerts, as well as for other services accessible to Canadian customers via text messaging on their wireless handsets. This initiative, developed by CWTA, aims to ensure that content providers operating on the Canadian carriers' networks comply with a common set of standards.

"We are delighted CWTA has chosen us for monitoring SMS program advertising in-market," said WMC Global Chief Marketing Officer Robin Thompson. "We look forward to helping ensure a positive experience for all Canadian wireless customers who use short codes."

WMC Global was established in the U.S. in 2006 in response to an early PSMS market seeking to establish oversight to protect the U.S. carriers and their subscribers from noncompliant advertising practices and questionable programs operating on the carrier networks. Now it protects carriers and customers in the U.S., Canada, Australasia, and Europe by providing in-market monitoring of PSMS and WAP programs, mobile applications, interactive voice services, age verification systems, and mobile advertising.

About WMC Global

WMC Global constitutes the industry standard for in-market monitoring, with operations and clients in the U.S. and Canada, Australasia, and Europe. The company provides in-market monitoring of SMS, PSMS, WAP, premium IVR programs, mobile app stores, and age verification systems for wireless carriers and industry associations. Every month, our team of highly trained media researchers and analysts intercepts in market—as the consumer experiences them—more than 40,000 advertising campaigns for wireless data services and audits the advertising and underlying service for compliance with industry and carrier-specific policies. Then, we report our findings to our carrier and industry association clients and assist with enforcing established standards. In addition, we assist carriers with program preapproval and onboarding services, and industry consulting services.
